Veilig paardrijden

**Stichting Veilige Paardensport (SVP)** is dedicated to enhancing safety within the equestrian sports community in the Netherlands. Established in 2001, SVP aims to ensure that hippische accommodations adhere to rigorous safety standards, promoting a secure environment for both riders and horses. In 2002, the organization launched the Safety Certificate program, a prestigious accreditation that verifies accommodations meet essential safety criteria for participating in equestrian activities.

SVP offers various resources and services, including a comprehensive handbook detailing safety requirements, tips for safe horse handling, and guidelines for accident registration. They also provide accommodations with the necessary tools to apply for, transfer, or cancel safety certificates. With around 1,100 certified equestrian facilities in the Netherlands, SVP’s efforts support riders and facility operators alike in prioritizing safety. Through their ongoing campaigns and training initiatives, they remain committed to promoting best practices in horseback riding, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable equestrian experience for everyone involved.
