Veilig Zwanger Ambacht

Veilig Zwanger Ambacht is a small, personal midwifery practice based in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, serving local families and people from nearby communities, including Zwijndrecht, Papendrecht, Ridderkerk, Heerjansdam and Dordrecht. The practice supports women throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, tailoring care to each person’s needs and preferences.

Its close-knit team follows a continuity-of-care approach: clients are cared for by a small group of midwives they get to know during pregnancy, with familiar faces supporting them during birth and after delivery. The practice provides medical ultrasounds, advice for people with a current or future wish to have children, and contraception services, including IUD insertion and other contraceptive prescriptions. It also has experience supporting water births at home or in hospital, and offers clients the opportunity to borrow a birthing pool. Childbirth courses are organised for clients during pregnancy.

The practice is available around the clock, with appointments offered in the morning, afternoon and evening. Consultations take place at two locations in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht.
