Veld is a proof-of-work blockchain network designed to make participation accessible while embedding post-quantum cryptography and reward rules directly into consensus. Its native transactions and finality signatures use ML-DSA-65, and its VeldHash mining algorithm is memory-hard and built around a 1 GB dataset for CPU mining on everyday computers. Veld’s native features operate without a general-purpose smart-contract virtual machine.

The network is live and offers several ways to participate: users can mine, run a full node, stake VELD, validate blocks, co-mine for near-miss rewards, or provide liquidity when the relevant activation conditions are met. The Veld Node client supports chain validation, wallet management, mining, and peer-to-peer networking. Staking and validator participation have minimum lockup or bond requirements, while liquidity provision is tied to the separately gated, Bitcoin-backed btcVELD asset.

VELD has a fixed supply cap of 21 million, with no pre-mine or founder allocation. Block rewards are distributed among miners and protocol reward pools, and the project provides a whitepaper, client downloads, an explorer, and participation guides.
