Velo-Club Eichsfeld Duderstadt e.V. is a cycling club founded in 1988 to promote the sport across the Eichsfeld and southern Lower Saxony region. The club brings together people with an interest in cycling and offers activities spanning recreational cycling, mountain biking and road racing. Its program includes organised cycling tours and Radtourenfahrten (RTF), as well as races and events that support regional participation in the sport.
Alongside its organised activities, the club contributes to local cycling facilities. In Gieboldehausen, members planned and built a cyclocross course featuring six hills in 2020. The course is freely accessible to children and young people and attracts riders using a wide range of bicycles. The club also promotes community involvement and volunteer engagement through its work in the region. Its contributions have received recognition in the “Sterne des Sports” competition, where it won a bronze award and a €1,000 prize from VR-Bank Mitte eG. Velo-Club Eichsfeld welcomes interested people who want to take part in its cycling community.
