Velominati

Velominati, known as the Keepers of the Cog, is a cycling-focused website devoted to the culture, etiquette, and shared language of the sport. Its central feature is The Rules, a collection of written principles about cycling conduct and style, presented as a guide to the traditions and expectations surrounding riding. Visitors can explore the rules and learn about the site’s distinctive vocabulary in the Lexicon, which explains nicknames and terms that have developed among Velominati contributors and readers.

The site also publishes articles covering a wide range of cycling topics, including racing, etiquette, accessories, gear, and interpretations of individual rules. Its archive includes both editorial pieces and guest contributions, with writing that blends cycling knowledge, personal stories, and humor. Readers can browse the latest features or explore older articles by category. Together, The Rules, the Lexicon, and the articles make Velominati an online resource and community for people interested in cycling’s customs, personalities, and culture. The site also provides account registration and login features.
