Venstre

Venstre is Norway’s liberal political party, founded in 1884. Guided by the belief that individual freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility for others, it advocates policies intended to expand opportunity, strengthen education, and protect the climate and nature. The party presents its work through policy information, political statements, programs, documents, news, and profiles of its elected representatives and local organizations.

Venstre’s priorities include a school that recognizes each student and supports achievement, effective climate solutions, stronger international cooperation to protect peace and freedom, and better conditions for creating businesses and jobs. It also promotes access to housing for young first-time buyers and proposes building 30,000 first homes by 2030. Its economic proposals include tax relief, opportunities for young people to enter work and housing, and accelerating the green transition.

Venstre invites people to participate through membership, volunteering, local activities, candidate nominations, donations, and a monthly supporter program called Venstrevenn. The organization also offers a newsletter and explains its policies in accessible language.
