Verloskundig centrum Amara

Verloskundig Centrum Amara is a midwifery practice serving families in Hoogvliet, Pernis, Poortugaal and Rhoon. Formerly known as Verloskundigenpraktijk Lize Verbaas, the practice has been called Amara since 1 August 2021 and is run by midwives Lize Verbaas and Melanie van Winkel. The team offers professional, personal guidance throughout the journey to parenthood, from preconception and pregnancy through birth and the postpartum period.

Services include preconception and pregnancy consultations, miscarriage support, birth care, postpartum support and contraception. The practice provides all its ultrasound scans on site, with options for 3D and 4D imaging and fetal sex determination. Consultations are available at two Hoogvliet locations, with evening appointments twice a week and additional Saturday availability. The team also supports clients who received pregnancy or birth care in hospital.

Amara shares information for expectant parents on topics such as pregnancy, birth, nutrition and breastfeeding, with resources in several languages. Clients can register directly by telephone on weekdays; no GP referral is required.
