Versace Tie Art is an art concept by Fort Worth artist Greg Brown, transforming original Gianni Versace ties into one-of-a-kind canvas works. The ties were created during Versace’s lifetime, before his death in 1997, and are becoming increasingly scarce. Each piece combines fashion and fine art: Brown sketches and paints a design on a gallery-wrapped canvas, then carefully wraps and glues a Versace tie onto it so the fabric and painted surface become a unified composition. The process is irreversible once the tie is attached, making each finished artwork unique.
Brown developed the idea in 2007, drawing on his experience as a Men’s Versace Specialist at the original downtown Neiman Marcus in Dallas from 1993 to 2001. His work has appeared in American Airlines Admirals Clubs and is held in private collections. He is represented by Ivantiques Gallery in Jerusalem, Galerie Beaute du Matin Calme in Paris, and Art on the Boulevard in Fort Worth. The gallery features works in several sizes, including 24-by-30, 24-by-36, 30-by-30, and 15-by-30 inches.
