Tammenlehvän Perinneliitto is a Finnish heritage organisation dedicated to strengthening national unity, sustaining the will to defend the country, preserving the cultural heritage and values of the wartime generation, and continuing support for veterans. Under the guidance of Finland’s Ministry of Defence, it is responsible for veteran heritage work and its regional coordination. Its network of 27 regional heritage associations promotes local support and care for the wartime generation and passes their legacy on to future generations.
The organisation provides information and resources on veterans’ history, military history, commemorations, honours and insignia, including a service offering expertise in Finnish decorations. Its educational materials include guides, historical documents, podcasts, interviews, teaching resources and activities for schools. The website also offers information about veterans’ support and benefits, rehabilitation, grants and application forms.
The Perinneliitto continues practical assistance for veterans and their families, particularly low-income veterans and veterans’ widows who need help with everyday costs.
