The "Verein für Familienkunde in Baden-Württemberg e.V." is dedicated to genealogical research and heraldry in the Baden-Württemberg region. Founded in 1920, the organization aims to foster a deep appreciation for family history and to support individuals in their quest to trace their ancestors. The Verein offers a range of services, including consultations for beginners and those with specific inquiries, provided in their accessible library and local working groups across various regions.

Their extensive library features a wealth of resources, such as family histories, emigration lists, and local genealogical literature, predominantly focused on southwest Germany but also covering adjacent areas. The Verein's archive holds numerous unpublished findings from deceased family researchers, contributing to the field of genealogy. Members benefit from the "Südwestdeutsche Blätter" journal, alongside lectures and events promoting collaboration among family researchers. New visitors and volunteers are always encouraged to join the community and partake in research initiatives, ensuring a warm and inclusive atmosphere for all genealogical enthusiasts.
