VFOR, short for Vermont Foundation of Recovery, is a brand dedicated to providing support and assistance to individuals suffering from Substance Use Disorder in Vermont. Their mission is to create a statewide network of Recovery Homes, also known as clean and sober living homes, to aid people in transitioning from active substance use to recovery and ultimately, to independent living. VFOR envisions a future where every Vermonter struggling with Substance Use Disorder has access to a comprehensive range of recovery supports and services.
To achieve this vision, VFOR aims to connect individuals with services that guide them through detoxification, inpatient treatment, outpatient counseling, sober living, employment opportunities, and ultimately stable sobriety and independent living. Their aim is to foster reintegration into society as valued and productive members of their communities. VFOR believes in offering these services locally and without delay, ensuring that anyone who needs them can access them promptly.
Membership with VFOR requires engaging in activities such as having a recovery coach, sponsor, spiritual advisor, or therapist, committing to recovery goals, and participating in 20 hours per week of work, volunteering, or education. Testimonials from VFOR members demonstrate the success of their program in teaching individuals the skills needed to navigate life without turning to substances. To stay updated with VFOR's activities and resources, interested individuals can join their mailing list to receive a monthly newsletter.
