Verband für Gewaltprävention und Selbstschutz e.V.

The Verband für Gewaltprävention und Selbstschutz e.V. (VGS) is an association based in Bruchsal, Germany, focused on violence prevention, personal safety and responsible self-protection. Its guiding principles connect knowledge, practical ability and the confidence to act. VGS offers courses and seminars designed around the quality standards of the Karlsruhe Police Presidium, helping participants build self-confidence, make informed decisions and respond more effectively in challenging situations.

Its training covers self-assertion, violence prevention, personal protection, injury minimization, self-defense and civil courage. Practical exercises help participants learn and apply techniques in relevant scenarios. The association serves adults, professional groups, children and young people, and offers “SV mit System,” a structured introduction to self-defense. Program topics include safety on public transport and protection around vehicles.

VGS also trains and qualifies violence-protection instructors to deliver self-assertion courses for adults and professional groups, as well as for children and young people. Its work includes the “Wehr DICH, aber richtig!” course concept, along with related seminars, training programs and public information.
