Vickers RC Sailing is a specialist radio-controlled yacht manufacturer based in Auckland, New Zealand, producing International One Metre (IOM) yachts for competitive sailing. Founded by designer Ian Vickers, the workshop began building the V8 IOM in 2014 and has since produced hundreds of handcrafted boats. Its current offering is the V12, a competition design that won the 2026 World Championships and placed second and third at the 2024 World Championships in Gladstone, Australia.
The V12 package includes a hull, foils and bulb designed to perform across a range of conditions. Its construction combines E-glass fibreglass and high-grade epoxy for the hull with carbon-fibre foils, and the finished yacht is supplied ready for rigs and electronics. Boats feature adjustable hardware, a bow bumper and fittings for standing and running rigging. Vickers also offers sails for purchase with a yacht or separately, along with a setup guide covering assembly, tuning and equipment. The company emphasizes lightweight, stiff construction and straightforward handling.
