Otley Victorian Christmas Fayre is an annual event that takes place on the first Sunday in December. Established in 1985 by the Otley Chamber of Trade, this delightful fayre aims to give the town's shops a boost during the festive season. Inspired by the Victorian era, which played a significant role in shaping our modern Christmas traditions, the fayre captures the nostalgia and charm of that bygone era.

In 2023, a newly formed Victorian Fayre Committee, consisting of passionate volunteers from Otley, took over the organization of the event. With a tight deadline, they are dedicated to delivering an incredible experience to visitors. The committee welcomes input and suggestions from local businesses, groups, and residents to continue building on the fayre's success for years to come.

One special aspect of the fayre is the Alan Furze Memorial Cup, which honors the memory of a dedicated volunteer. This award recognizes a business or stall that best embodies the spirit of the Victorian Fayre. Dressing in Victorian attire is encouraged, keeping the tradition alive.

The Victorian Fayre Committee falls under the umbrella of the Otley Events Company (OEC), a newly formed organization aimed at organizing community events in and around Otley. The OEC has exciting plans for the future, including the revival of the Otley Food and Drink Festival in 2024, subject to support and volunteers. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of the Otley Victorian Christmas Fayre and experience the magic of the Victorian era brought to life
