To strengthen Canada's preparedness for emerging infectious diseases, VIDO is expanding its capabilities. This includes opening the Vaccine Development Centre, a state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility that meets good manufacturing practice requirements. Additionally, VIDO is adding containment level 4 capacity, enabling work with any pathogen, and building a new animal facility to expand preclinical research and development.

By attracting new talent and providing training opportunities, VIDO is actively developing the next generation of scientists.
