Viet Vo Dao

Viet Vo Dao is a Vietnamese martial art and self-defense system taught in Germany under the guidance of Master Tran Viet Tung, who introduced it to the Rhine-Neckar region in 1977. Developed from a range of Vietnamese fighting traditions, its approach combines organized techniques with a philosophy that emphasizes personal development, mutual understanding, and balance between body and mind. Training builds coordination, flexibility, fitness, endurance, confidence, self-discipline, and self-control, with breathing and relaxation exercises also forming part of the practice.

Beginners need no prior experience, and classes are offered for children from age four, school-age children, teenagers, and adults. The organization also works with schools and kindergartens and offers programs in corporate sport and team building, violence prevention, and self-defense. Instruction includes varied empty-hand techniques, while specialist courses may cover long and short staff and sword.

Competitions and seminars are available, though participation in tournaments is voluntary and not central to training. The website also provides information about Viet Tai Chi, video lessons, trial sessions, and a web shop
