Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) is a prominent independent charity operating in the heart of England, dedicated to providing lifesaving emergency medical services through its fleet of three air ambulances. Covering six counties, including Gloucestershire and Shropshire, MAAC has been a vital resource since 1991, responding to over 76,000 missions. With an operational cost of £16 million annually, the charity relies entirely on the generosity of local communities and businesses for funding, as it does not receive government support.

Each air ambulance mission averages £2,950, making prompt and efficient response critical. MAAC’s experienced crews, consisting of pilots, paramedics, and doctors, use advanced life-support equipment to deliver urgent medical care. Additionally, they operate a fleet of critical care cars to ensure coverage even in adverse weather conditions. Committed to excellence, MAAC has maintained outstanding ratings from the Care Quality Commission for its services and continues to innovate in its mission to provide high-quality pre-hospital care.
