Viral dynamics

Jérémie Guedj is a research scientist in biostatistics and pharmacometrics at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), specializing in infectious diseases and antiviral treatment. His work combines mathematical modeling and clinical research to investigate interactions between hosts and pathogens, improve understanding of infection dynamics, and inform treatment strategies. Research applications include optimizing antiviral drug combinations and dosing regimens, and identifying factors associated with differences in treatment response.

Guedj’s research began with chronic viral infections, including HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C, and has expanded to acute emerging infections such as SARS-CoV-2 and viral hemorrhagic fever. He also applies methods from virus dynamics to other areas, including bacterial dynamics, microbiota, phage therapy, and cancer. Based at Inserm’s IAME laboratory on the Bichat Hospital campus in Paris, he leads the MOCLID group, which focuses on modeling and clinical investigation in infectious diseases.
