Katalyst Kombatives

Katalyst Kombatives is an adult-focused self-defense training provider in Virginia Beach, Virginia, offering modern Krav Maga through a structured, pressure-tested program. Its training is designed for adults and serious teens, including complete beginners, and emphasizes practical preparation for civilian violence rather than competition. Students develop skills through controlled exposure to realistic, unchoreographed scenarios, building physical competence over time.

Programs cover clinch fighting, close-range striking, grappling, and defenses against knives, guns, and blunt weapons. Training also includes multiple-attacker scenarios, choke escapes, verbal de-escalation, situational awareness, stress inoculation, live sparring, and pad work. The approach focuses on managing distance, defending grabs and takedowns, responding under pressure, and recovering safely from ground situations.

Katalyst offers a free introductory class, with no experience required and no long-term contract needed to begin. For those not ready to attend in person, the brand provides a free four-part video Starter Kit with self-defense tips and a program and pricing guide.
