Virtual States is an online nation-building and role-playing community where members create and govern fictional countries, develop distinctive cultures and societies, and shape their nations’ paths through cooperation, ambition, conflict, or decline. The site provides dedicated spaces for state registration and administration, country profiles, military planning, and world maps, alongside forums for diplomacy, negotiations, international events, economic activity, research projects, and news from across the shared fictional world. Members can participate in international organizations, discuss conventions and resolutions, and build relationships through embassies and state-to-state exchanges.

The community also supports collaborative storylines and creative world design, with sections for graphics, skins, and role-play discussions. Practical resources include support, game guides, administrative information, and feedback areas, while off-topic forums and archives preserve community conversations and past role-play. Virtual States is designed for players who enjoy political simulation and collaborative storytelling, offering a structured setting in which individual ideas contribute to an evolving international landscape
