It offers convenient treatment for common health concerns without an appointment or video call, serving people who live in or are visiting Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Patients answer questions about their symptoms, health history, medications, allergies and insurance online.
Board-certified nurse practitioners review their responses and provide a diagnosis and personalized treatment plan, usually within two hours during clinician review hours. Available conditions include acne, colds and flu, sinus infections, rashes, pink eye, urinary tract infections, birth control needs and more. If medication is prescribed, it is sent to the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
Patients can follow up with their care team within seven days, and those who cannot be treated online are directed to appropriate care without being charged for the e-visit. E-visits are usually covered by insurance; costs vary by plan, with uninsured visits costing up to $89. Virtuwell’s transition to e-visits preserves care from its trusted clinical team
