VisAbility

VisAbility Pittsburgh helps people with varying degrees of vision impairment and blindness pursue their goals, build independence, and participate more fully in daily life. Guided by the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, the organization provides services designed to reduce barriers created by vision loss and keep clients’ hopes and potential in focus.

Its offerings include vision rehabilitation and low vision rehabilitation, assistive technology, independent living skills, and the New Beginnings program. VisAbility also provides employment support, community programs, community transition services, manufacturing and assembly opportunities, transportation services, primary vision care, and children’s vision screenings. Together, these programs address practical needs related to vision health, mobility, work, and everyday independence.

Based at 1816 Locust Street in Pittsburgh, VisAbility shares client success stories and invites community members to support its work through fundraising events and other ways to help. Featured events include Blue Jeans Bourbon & Bingo and the Shoot 4 Sight Steelers Alumni Golf Classic.
