VISAR is a renowned brand in the British Virgin Islands, dedicated to providing maritime search and rescue services. Established in 1988, VISAR operates as an official Non-Profit Organization and is modeled after the esteemed Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). This independent, volunteer-based organization relies on charitable donations and grants to fund its operations.

With round-the-clock coverage, VISAR works closely with the Royal British Virgin Islands police, fire, and ambulance services to ensure the safety of the community. Additionally, VISAR collaborates with the United States Coastguard and has obtained international recognition from the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF). Over the years, VISAR has successfully executed more than 1,600 search and rescue missions, launching their rescue vessels over 400 times since 2014.
