Hands On! Discovery Center is a non-profit, all-ages science center offering educational and engaging programs, events, and exhibits. Experiences include immersive and interactive science and art exhibits, a 3-story Paleonotolgy themed climbing tower, and a one-of-a-kind Pollinator Discovery Garden. Guests are invited to engineer a rocket, create a masterpiece, and uncover something new! For a nominal additional fee, you can experience a Guinness record-holding musical, bi-polar Tesla Coil Show as well as a guided Paleontology tour that takes you further onto an active dig site located on the premises. Get up close and personal with the Gray Fossil Site, an active, 5 million year old fossil dig site. Plant and animal fossils have been unearthed including a giant flying squirrel, tapirs, red panda, rhinoceros, a 10-ton mastodon, and many more!

About Hands On! Discovery Center
Welcome to the Hands On! Discovery Center at Gray Fossil Site, an all-ages science center that offers a unique and interactive learning experience for everyone. Our center features engaging exhibits, including a musical Tesla coil, giant building blocks, and a maker studio where you can unleash your creativity. But that's not all! You'll also have the opportunity to explore the Gray Fossil Site, an active dig site that dates back 5 million years and was home to fascinating creatures like tapirs, red pandas, and even a 16-ton mastodon.
To make your visit even more convenient, we offer a range of services. You can plan your visit, check out our calendar of events, and buy tickets on our website. Annual membership cardholders can also register their visit online in advance.
And don't forget to review our Play & Wellness Guidelines before your visit. At Hands On! Discovery Center, we believe in supporting at-home learning. In addition to our exhibits, we provide resources such as Discovery At Home Kits and Discovery Rental Kits, which offer fun and interactive activities for students and their families.
