Visje in het water

Visje in het water is Karin Polak’s child-development and parent-support practice, focused on babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Grounded in a love of Pikler principles, its approach emphasizes attentive, loving contact, free play and movement as foundations for healthy development. The practice helps parents understand their young children, find practical ways to support their growth and strengthen the parent-child relationship.

Its offerings have included parent-and-child playgroups, baby massage and growth coaching, alongside guidance for childcare professionals, such as workplace coaching, observations, lectures and workshops. Visje in het water has also offered training for people interested in leading parent-and-child playgroups. Karin brings more than 30 years of experience with young children; Esther Steinebach, a psychologist and trained playgroup leader, has also contributed to the work.

Karin ended the playgroups at the end of 2025 and is passing on her knowledge through the BOKiS training programme. The site lists playgroup options in several towns and locations, with further groups planned
