Visserijfeesten Breskens

Visserijfeesten Breskens is an annual community festival organized by the Comité Visserijdagen Breskens. Held in the coastal town of Breskens each August, the event has brought visitors to the region since 1953, celebrating the town’s fishing heritage with entertainment and activities for all ages. The 72nd edition is scheduled for August 6–8, 2027.

The festival features live performances by musicians and street artists, a large braderie along the harbor, fairground attractions on two squares, a flea market, and a food-truck area. Visitors can also enjoy the traditional free fish distribution near the former fish auction building. Other activities include a major raffle, a festive tent, and events around the harbor and town center. The program and participating artists vary by year, with past editions documented in the festival’s online archive.

The committee shares event information, schedules, videos, and practical details through its official website and social media channels. Local sponsors help make the festivities possible, while the organization’s stated aim includes sustaining the long-running celebration for the community and its visitors.
