VistAbility

VistAbility is a registered nonprofit founded in 1965 by parents and family members of people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Based in Martinez, California, the organization provides community-based, person-centered services to more than 1,000 adults, children, and families each day across Contra Costa and Alameda counties. Its mission is to enrich lives by supporting families, fostering independence, and encouraging personal choice.

VistAbility offers a broad range of programs, including community access, employment services, internships, early childhood support, after-school care, family resources, behavioral health services, and wraparound support. These services help individuals and families access practical assistance and opportunities tailored to their needs.

The organization also operates Good Stuff Thrift Shops in Antioch and El Cerrito. The shops sell gently used clothing, jewelry, accessories, and donated household finds from the local community. Profits support VistAbility’s advocacy and services for people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Through its programs, community partnerships, and thrift shops, VistAbility works to expand opportunity and help people pursue their potential.
