About Vivo Alliance
VivoAlliance | San Juan is a brand that is dedicated to empowering survivors of gender-based violence and sexual assault, and advocating for change and justice. Their Advocacy and Accountability Project was established to address the systemic flaws within the Puerto Rican justice system, ensuring that victims' rights are strengthened and perpetrators are prosecuted. The brand aims to give a voice to victims of gender-based violence, exposing the imbalance between the extensive rights granted to criminal defendants and the inadequate rights of victims in Puerto Rico.
They also seek to identify and address neglect within the justice system through in-depth research, shedding light on the urgent need for change. VivoAlliance works towards legislative reforms by analyzing existing laws, policies, and protocols, pinpointing gaps and weaknesses that perpetuate systemic injustices faced by survivors. They provide evidence-based recommendations to support legislative changes that enhance victims' rights and ensure the swift and impartial adjudication of gender-based violence and sexual assault crimes.
By assembling a dedicated team of legal and research professionals, VivoAlliance gathers critical information, defines the severity of the problem, and formulates evidence-based solutions. They analyze rates of gender-based violence crimes and convictions, scrutinize existing laws, and even conduct public awareness campaigns to engage the community and raise public awareness. Ultimately, VivoAlliance aims to empower survivors, expose and address systemic flaws, encourage systemic reforms, and foster a supportive community.
