VJN

The Verband der Jagdaufseher Niedersachsen e.V. (VJN) is an independent representative and educational organization for gamekeepers in Lower Saxony. Founded in 1986, it has grown from 21 founding members to more than 500, and represents its members in discussions on legislation while cooperating with other gamekeeper associations. The VJN promotes skilled, sustainable and animal-welfare-conscious hunting, alongside wildlife care and nature conservation.

Its training includes a practical gamekeeper course completed over four weekends, further education for certified gamekeepers, the state-certified game master program, and seminars on specialist topics. Courses and resources address hunting law, wildlife biology, wolf management, habitat and wildlife care, game damage assessment, game hygiene and marketing, and planning hunting facilities. The organization also offers guidance on public communication and conflict management. Training is delivered by experienced practitioners, including professional gamekeepers, lawyers, foresters, veterinarians and wolf advisers.

Members can access seminars, specialist information and a community of peers. The VJN also shares updates, event dates and resources through its website and newsletter, supporting continued learning and responsible practice across hunting and wildlife management.
