VKÚ

VKÚ Harmanec is a Slovak cartography brand with a heritage dating back to 1948. Known for accuracy and detail, it creates maps for hikers, cyclists, nature lovers, public institutions, businesses and local communities. Its best-known products are tourist maps of Slovakia, available in scales of 1:25,000 for detailed route planning and 1:50,000 for broader excursions and cycling. The collection also includes comparative maps that show how places have changed over time, custom display maps and, following a long break, renewed production of relief maps.

VKÚ Harmanec combines traditional mapmaking with modern technology. Its CBS Map Explorer application adds interactive features to selected maps, including augmented-reality experiences that bring historical landscapes to life. The brand also offers map licences and products and services for schools and public authorities. Customers can explore and purchase products through its online shop, while the Slovak Map Museum reflects the company’s wider interest in cartographic history. VKÚ Harmanec’s maps are used by individuals and organisations across Slovakia.
