Vleugelslag Rouwverwerking

Vleugelslag is a Dutch grief-support brand focused on recovery after the loss of a loved one through violence or another crime. Founded by Marije Janmaat-Versteeg, it draws on her fifteen years of experience as a family liaison officer, alongside her work as an applied psychologist, educator of family liaison officers, and author. Vleugelslag aims to offer bereaved people, their families and communities, and professionals practical insight and compassionate support during a period that can involve grief, police and legal processes, media attention, and profound uncertainty.

Its central offering is the book Rouw en herstel na verlies door een misdrijf, a guide for bereaved families, their wider circles, and professionals. It is available through bookstores and directly from the author, with signed copies available on request. Vleugelslag also provides lectures and training designed to build understanding and offer practical guidance. The brand’s name and dragonfly imagery represent small but meaningful gestures that can help people find support, resilience, and direction as they navigate grief and recovery.
