VMSW, or the Vlaamse Maatschappij voor Sociaal Wonen, is an external autonomous agency within the Environment policy domain of the Flemish government. Working in collaboration with Wonen in Vlaanderen, VMSW strives to promote, advise, and support local housing actors, enabling quality and affordable social housing in Flanders. Following a restructuring to Wonen in Vlaanderen on January 1, 2023, some of VMSW's tasks were transferred to the agency, along with all the personnel.

Consequently, communication with VMSW is now handled by Wonen in Vlaanderen staff. VMSW mainly focuses on three core activities. Firstly, it facilitates lending activities, transforming funds acquired from the Flemish government into loans for local housing actors.

Additionally, VMSW manages the financial resources of housing companies, processing payments through their current accounts. It also offers support in developing and managing IT applications for housing companies. Furthermore, VMSW can act as a contractor for social housing projects, overseeing the construction of housing infrastructure at the request of local housing actors.
