Vogelfreunden Forchheim

Vogelfreunde Forchheim 1963 e.V. is a bird-keeping and breeding association with more than 50 members, including around 15 active breeders. Its purpose is to promote the responsible care and breeding of birds, including canaries, native woodland birds, exotic species such as budgerigars and parrots, and a wide range of finches. The association also supports the conservation of native bird species through practical activities, including installing and cleaning nest boxes, and by informing the public about bird protection.

Members meet regularly at the clubhouse of the Geflügelzuchtverein Hemhofen on Peter-Händel-Straße in Hemhofen. The association’s calendar includes monthly meetings and participation in bird-breeding events, such as the IG Fränkischer Vogelzüchter championship in Weismain. Vogelfreunde Forchheim is affiliated with AZ Ortsgruppe 499 and welcomes people interested in bird keeping, breeding, and conservation. Its website provides news, information about the committee, breeder reports, a club history, a gallery, and contact details for prospective members and visitors.
