Vogelwacht Uffelte

Vogelwacht Uffelte en omstreken is a local bird and nature association focused on protecting bird populations and improving natural areas in the Westerveld region of southwest Drenthe. Its members monitor and map birds, support practical conservation work, and share knowledge about local wildlife. The association welcomes anyone interested in birds, whether they wish to learn, take part in activities, or volunteer through one of its working groups. These groups include projects involving swallows, nest boxes, and barn owls, alongside a youth group and other conservation initiatives.

Vogelwacht Uffelte organizes events for members and other interested people, including talks, outdoor activities, and habitat-care sessions such as heathland maintenance. It also publishes news, event reports, newsletters, annual summaries, and information about bird species and local projects. Membership costs €7.50 per year, helping support the association’s work for nature and birds. People who want to contribute more actively can contact the organization about volunteering or current coordinator and group vacancies.
