Die Schweizer Vollgeld-Initiative will, dass nur noch die Nationalbank elektronisches Geld erzeugt. Denn die unkontrollierte Geldschöpfung der Banken ist die wesentliche Ursache von Finanzkrisen.

About VOLLGELD-INITIATIVE
The Vollgeld Initiative in Switzerland aims to reform the monetary system by ensuring that only the National Bank is authorized to create electronic money. This initiative seeks to curb uncontrolled money creation by private banks, which is often blamed for financial crises. Launched in 2014, the initiative ignited a nationwide discussion about secure money creation and the role of banks in the financial system. Despite being rejected in a referendum in June 2018 with 75% of votes against it, the initiative has not lost its relevance. It highlights the importance of transitioning from a debt-based money system to a model that promotes financial stability.
The initiative's supporters emphasize that with Vollgeld, bank accounts would be safer, financial speculation would decrease, and profits from money creation would benefit the public. The ongoing work of the association for Monetary Modernization (MoMo) reflects a commitment to keep this vital conversation alive and press for necessary reforms in Swiss monetary policy to ensure a secure and responsible financial future.
