Users can upload a file or submit a direct link, and the platform transcribes the content, organizes captions into readable lines, and adds word-level timestamps. It supports common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, and MP3, and processes long recordings in chunks.

Subtitles can be reviewed and corrected in an online editor, where users can adjust wording and cue boundaries. VolnaSubs offers SRT and VTT exports, as well as the option to burn captions into a copy of the video. Customers can also translate completed subtitle tracks into 42 languages while retaining the original timing, and use a glossary to keep names and specialist terms consistent.
