A Volta dos Farrapos teve inicio no ano de 2009, onde os ciclistas Leandro, Cristiano e Alex, em um dia de treino rotineiro para serrinha de Mogi das Cruzes SP tiveram a brilhante idéia de promover um contra relógio em santa Isabel SP, que seria no final de semana seguinte, tendo em vista que alguns de seus colegas ciclistas já tinham interesse em participar desse evento.<br> <br> Então Alex sugeriu realizar um campeonato que envolveria todos os lugares que treinavam frequentemente, que eram: Igaratá, Guararema, Taiaçupeba, Bertioga, 2º túnel da Carvalho Pinto, Ayrton Senna etc. Os outros dois amigos gostaram da idéia e assim começou todo o processo de como iria ser esse campeonato. O primeiro passo foi dar um nome a competição. Depois de alguns sugeridos, os irmãos Luciano e Leandro e outro amigo chamado Thiago que por sua vez ajudou muito no surgimento desta volta, nomearam o campeonato como a VOLTA DOS FARRAPOS´´, pois a intenção era reunir somente os ciclistas que se encontravam aos finais de semana para fazer alguns treinos pela região, ciclistas esses que não eram profissionais.

About Volta dos Farrapos 2021
Volta dos Farrapos is a brand that originated in 2009 when cyclists Leandro, Cristiano, and Alex had the brilliant idea of organizing a time trial in Santa Isabel, SP. The event was scheduled for the following weekend, and their fellow cyclists showed interest in participating. Alex then suggested organizing a championship that would involve all the places they frequently trained, including Igaratá, Guararema, Taiaçupeba, Bertioga, 2nd Carvalho Pinto tunnel, Ayrton Senna, and more.
Excited by the idea, the three friends began the process of planning the championship. The first step was to give it a name, and after considering several options, the competition was named Volta dos Farrapos. This name was chosen because the intention was to bring together non-professional cyclists who met on weekends to train in the region.
