Volter Kilven Seura

Volter Kilpi Society is a Finnish literary association founded in 1988 to promote the life and work of its namesake author. Established by Professor Dietrich Assmann, the society supports public awareness of Volter Kilpi and provides resources for readers and researchers interested in his writing and legacy. Its publications include editions of Kilpi’s letters and other writings, studies and articles about the author, and reprints of some of his early works.

The society also organizes cultural trips and events, including talks, seminars, celebrations and activities connected with the author’s life and literature. It marks Kilpi’s birthday on December 12 with a traditional gathering, and shares news about literary projects, performances, translations and the annual Volter Kilpi in Kustavi literary week.
