Volumnia

Volumnia is a design gallery and cultural space in Piacenza, Italy, presenting a carefully selected collection of historic Italian design. Each work is chosen for its cultural significance, craftsmanship and ability to engage with contemporary life. The collection brings together furniture, lighting and objects, creating a narrative across periods and design traditions. Featured pieces include a chandelier attributed to Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, a Jean-Pierre Ryckaert side table, a Sergio Mazza wall mirror, bookcases by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, and armchairs by Melchiorre Bega.

Based inside the deconsecrated Church of Sant’Agostino, Volumnia offers a setting where architecture, design and everyday life meet. Its exhibitions are central to the gallery’s research, connecting historic design with contemporary culture and architecture to encourage fresh perspectives on the works and their surroundings. Volumnia also shares its activity through publications and an archive, and lists a restaurant among its offerings. The gallery is located on Stradone Farnese in Piacenza.
