CIRI Register

The Voluntary Construction Register Ireland (VCR) is an online register of builders, contractors, specialist subcontractors and tradespersons who undertake construction work. Cited as a primary resource for consumers involved in public and private procurement of construction services, it helps users search for registered providers by business name, registration number, location and work category. Listed categories cover building, building services and specialist elements, including residential and commercial projects, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical services, conservation, site works and building maintenance.

VCR also provides information to help consumers understand the register and choose a provider, including guidance, frequently asked questions, project examples and explanations of registration requirements. These requirements address areas such as competence and experience, technical capability, continuing professional development, health and safety, insurance, tax compliance and knowledge of building regulations. For construction professionals, the site offers registration applications, membership renewals, an induction course, CPD resources and a code of ethics. It also provides channels for complaints and contact. VCR is based c/o the Construction Industry Federation in Dublin.
