About Volunteer Central
Volunteer Central is a non-profit organization based in the Central region of New Zealand. Our mission is to connect individuals seeking volunteer opportunities with organizations in need of volunteers. We provide services in Palmerston North, Horowhenua, Manawatū, and Tararua regions.
At Volunteer Central, we support communities in four key areas: Connection, Awareness, Recognition, and Community Development. We use a skills-matching system to successfully match volunteers with organizations. Our goal is to raise awareness about the positive impact of volunteering through attending and hosting events.
We also celebrate volunteers' efforts through Recognition Events, acknowledging their time and commitment. In addition, we work with local councils on community development initiatives to improve community health and connections.
Volunteer Central is an independent organization, working in partnership with Volunteering New Zealand and other volunteer centers across the country. Our dedicated team, with extensive experience in both the community and corporate sectors, ensures the smooth operation of the center.
