Berkumstede is a dedicated residential care center located in the Berkum neighborhood, providing housing, nursing, support, and recreational services for seniors. The center not only prioritizes the wellbeing of its residents but also actively engages with the community through services like home care and support in adjacent assisted living apartments, alongside various social and cultural activities. Central to Berkumstede’s mission is the Stichting Vrienden van Berkumstede, formerly known as De Wissel, which focuses on raising and managing donations for initiatives that go beyond the standard budget.
These funds are used for enriching experiences such as purchasing a dual bicycle, enhancing the garden, or organizing special events like garden parties and outings. The foundation is committed to ensuring that every contribution makes a positive impact on the residents’ lives. With a robust governance structure, including a dedicated board, Stichting Vrienden van Berkumstede invites community members to donate and share in the joy of creating a vibrant living environment for its seniors
