HSV De Vrolijke Vissers Hank is a fishing association serving anglers in Hank and the surrounding Biesbosch region. Founded on 15 April 1966 with royal approval, the club has grown to more than 900 members from the Netherlands and Belgium. It is affiliated with regional and national angling organisations and contributes to fishery management and youth and senior activities.
The association offers fishing opportunities and competitions throughout the year, with around 40 contests scheduled for 2026. Activities include pier and fixed-rod fishing, boat angling, and predator fishing for pike and zander, as well as youth events at the village pond. Members can fish in the Biesbosch with the required federation permission, and their VISpas also provides access to listed fishing waters across the Netherlands. Membership includes the competition programme and club newsletter.
The Biesbosch’s waterways support species such as bream, carp, tench and pike. The club’s Hank base is ’t Uivernest, where members register for competitions and gather for prize ceremonies and meetings.
