About Vermont Legal Aid
Vermont Legal Aid is a non-profit 501(c)(3) law firm with a rich history dating back to 1968. Our mission is to provide civil legal services to the people of Vermont and advocate for the rights of low-income individuals. We understand the challenges that vulnerable Vermonters face, and we work tirelessly to address systemic issues that impact their lives.
With a dedicated staff of 90 professionals organized into 11 legal projects, we offer a wide range of services. Our focus includes disability law, elder law, Medicare advocacy, housing discrimination law, and more. We provide free legal assistance to Vermonters living in poverty, with disabilities, or over the age of 60.
Additionally, we assist anyone facing housing discrimination or challenges related to healthcare insurance or services. Last year alone, we represented 6,222 Vermonters. Join us in advancing fairness, justice, and equality in the civil legal system.
