Vulkan Aktiv is a year-round outdoor sports and activity provider in Hochwaldhausen, in the Vogelsberg region of Hesse, Germany. Run by Thomas Löffler-Wagenführ, a licensed DSV instructor and former member of the roller-ski national team, the business specialises in Nordic sports and outdoor experiences for individuals, groups, schools and clubs.
In winter, Vulkan Aktiv offers cross-country skiing instruction, plus rental and sales of skis, boots, poles and accessories. Customers can also hire sledges, toboggans, bobs and snowshoes, and join guided snowshoe or winter walks. Sledge rental is available at several local locations, including the Hoherodskopf and Herchenhainer Höhe.
In snow-free seasons, the programme includes roller-ski, inline-skating and Nordic walking courses, as well as guided hikes. Since 2024, Vulkan Aktiv has also offered electric mountain bike rentals and guided tours. Based near popular Vogelsberg trails, the business provides an accessible way to explore the region through instruction, equipment hire and guided outdoor activities throughout the year.
