Plavání Vydrýsek

Plavání Vydrýsek is a swimming club in Prague that has provided swimming instruction for children for many years. Its programs serve newborns, infants, toddlers, older children and young people, as well as pupils from kindergartens and special schools. The club also offers summer day camps that include swimming lessons. Instruction is delivered by professionally qualified instructors and tailored to children’s age and abilities.

For newborns, sessions can begin at home in a bath after the baby’s navel has healed, with guidance from an instructor trained in newborn swimming. These sessions help parents learn safe holds and gain confidence handling their baby on land and in water. Activities introduce basic skills and equipment before continuing in the pool, where families can practise and develop what they have learned.

Lessons are taught sensitively through games, rhymes, songs and specialist swimming aids. Children build water awareness, practise breathing and floating, and learn basic self-rescue and swimming skills.
