Silhouette is an international eyewear company founded in Linz, Austria, in 1964 by Arnold and Anneliese Schmied as a family business. The company makes premium-quality glasses, combining craftsmanship, attention to detail and advanced technology to help people see well and look their best. Today, Silhouette Group has around 1,500 employees and manufactures its eyewear in Central Europe. Its Czech production site, Silhouette Czechia, opened in Trhové Sviny in 1995 and employs approximately 300 people.

The Trhové Sviny facility contributes to the production and final quality control of glasses before they reach customers.
