VZS Plzeň

Vodní záchranná služba ČČK Plzeň is a volunteer branch of the Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service, dedicated to safety and emergency assistance in and around water. Its work focuses particularly on the Hracholusky Reservoir, where it operates a first-aid station continuously during the summer season and provides water-surface patrols. The organization also supplies medical and technical support for sporting, cultural, community, and other events, including water-skiing, sailing, swimming, and triathlon competitions, as well as public events in Plzeň.

Its trained members include lifeguards, first-aid responders, motorboat operators, divers, and rescuers experienced in open and fast-moving water. They contribute to emergency response, prevention and public education, and water-safety services, while also teaching young people. Activities include pool swimming, a junior rescue club, a climbing club, and camps. The group aims to promote first-aid knowledge and improve safety at recreational waters. It welcomes people interested in joining or supporting its work, and can arrange additional services by agreement.
