About WACA
WACA is the Hilfsgemeinschaft der Blinden und Sehschwachen Österreichs, an organization that has been actively advocating for blind and visually impaired individuals in Austria for over 85 years. As the oldest and largest self-help organization for the visually impaired in Austria, WACA represents the interests of approximately 318,000 individuals with visual impairments. WACA offers a range of services and products to support visually impaired individuals in their daily lives.
They provide free consultations and support to help individuals adapt to their visual challenges and address any questions they may have. WACA also offers assistance with social rights, care funding, disability passes, and discounts, as well as advice on assistive devices and low vision aids. Additionally, WACA provides various activities and services such as orientation and mobility training, visits and companionship, and access to recreational and educational programs.
With WACA, individuals can become members and access a wide range of services and support. They can also volunteer their time or make donations to contribute to WACA's mission of helping visually impaired individuals lead fulfilling lives
