Texas AHEC East - Waco Region is a dedicated brand that aims to improve the supply, distribution, retention, and training of diverse health professionals in medically underserved areas. Our mission is to make our communities healthier by promoting health careers and preparing students for advanced learning. We offer a variety of in-person opportunities, with our popular CHAMPS pipeline program being held in the summer.

We strongly believe in community-based student education (CBSE) for health professions students, with a focus on providing primary care services to underserved populations. By facilitating their clinical training and encouraging service to the community, we hope to inspire students to return to a community setting to practice after graduation.
